Amazing! “1 Minute Paintings”: Fastest Urban Spray Art in the World?
Amazing! One of the very first articles on this blog featured the form of urban spray art known as Aerosolgrafia, a striking and other-worldly medium popular with street artists from the Americas to continental Europe and beyond. Mesmerising to watch, Aerosolgrafia adopts everyday household items in the creation of grand space scenes. It’s messy, it’s hypnotic, and above all it’s fast – but there’s every chance that Brandon McConnell is the fastest spray artist of them all:
Invented by Ruben “Sadot” Fernandez in Mexico City in 1982, Aerosolgrafia (or Sadotgrafia) rose from the streets of La Zona Rosa district to become an urban art form with a global following. Often depicting futuristic cities and pyramids set against the backdrop of strange planets, it might not be to everyone’s taste but most will agree it’s a fascinating spectacle to watch.
