Next-G, Modifikasi Yamaha Jupiter Z Mirip Jetski


Modifikasi motor bebek menjadi skutik bukan hal baru lagi. Namun, kreasi duet Johanes Hanafi dari rumah modifikasi X-16 dan Tomy Gunawan dari Tomy Airbrush ini terbilang unik. Mereka merombak Yamaha Jupiter Z berbentuk hampir mirip dengan jetski, dan diberi nama Next-G.
Konsep Next-G memang unik. Ada dua pekerjaan besar buat keduanya sebelum Jupiter-Z jadi model Next-G. Menurut Johanes, urusan bodi menjadi tanggung jawabnya, sedangkan mesin digarap Tomy. Intinya, mereka kerja bareng.

Diakui Johanes, menggembungkan bodi Jupiter tidak mudah. Breket asli ada yang dipertahankan dan ada pula yang diperkuat, terutama bagian depan dan belakang harus dihitung agar bodi besar skuter bisa masuk.

Setelah itu, konstruksi pegangan bodi depan berubah lantaran dimensi hidung Next-G yang mancung dan lebar. Cara demikian juga diterapkan kala menggarap belakang. Rangka dipapas dan didesain ulang sesuai dimensi panjang dan lebar dari tengah serta belakang.

Belum lagi menyambung dengan pelat siku supaya beban buntut baru bisa ditahan. Ubahan bodi enggak seberapa kalau mengacu ke Next-G. Yang perlu diperhatikan, sistem transmisi yang digarap Tomy. Ketika mesin dinyalakan, kontan gigi otomatis masuk ke satu.

Unveiled: Nazrul Afifi's new 180SX

Miss me? Hahaha. Anyway..as the title say...check it out yo!

First of all, I would like to express my token of gratitude to Along for giving me the honor to sit inside his newly bought 180SX last Thursday and also for giving me the first chance to snap a couple of his car pictures. If you guys didn't know, this car was recently fresh out from the paintshop last Thursday morning! Thank you very much my drift idol.

Basically there will be no engine shot and interior shot for now. Why? Because the original engine will be thrown out, for a favor of a more powerful SR engine; Crower Blacktop SR24DET! The current engine is mostly stock, with only a few modification and bits inside. The interior meanwhile, is stock with only Nardi Steering, Nismo gearknob and Racecraft bucket seat changed.

No, this car WILL not replace his Cefiro. This car acts as a backup car if his Cefiro suffers any damage, brokedown etc. It also acts as his street legal drift car since his Cefiro is all strip down and well...you don't want to mess with JPJ and Police right...do you think you can run that around in road?

Hasil Balapan MotoGP Inggris 2009, Dovizioso Juara



Hasil balapan MotoGP Inggris 2009 di sirkuit Donnington diwarnai kejutan. Pembalap Honda Andrea Dovizioso meraih juara. Colin Edwards dari Tech 3 Yamaha runner up dan Randy de Puniet dari LCR Honda posisi ketiga.
Pada balapan Minggu malam (26/7) WIB, lintas yang lembab akibat hujan memakan korban, termasuk Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo dan Toni Elias. Ketiganya harus terjatuh. Rossi, meski masih bisa melanjutkan balapan usai terjatuh, tak bisa mengejar kehilangan waktunya. Padahal sebelum insiden tersebut, dia sedang memimpin balapan.

Yang berhasil memanfaatkan momentum itu adalah Andrea Doviziso. Start di posisi lima, ia mengawali balapan dengan bagus. Setelah menempel ketat Rossi yang lantas jatuh, Dovizioso pun mengambil alih posisi terdepan.

Posisi itu dia jaga sampai balapan berakhir, meski ada Colin Edwards dan Randy de Puniet setia membayangi. Ini adalah podium pertama buat Dovizioso dalam karir MotoGP-nya.

2009-Chevrolet TrailBlazer





New 2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer :
The 2009 TrailBlazer is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in 8 trims, ranging from the LT1 2WD to the SS3 AWD.

Upon introduction, the LT1 2WD is equipped with a standard 4.2-liter, I6, 285-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. The SS3 AWD is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 390-horsepower engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 16-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
TrailBlazer SS has unique exterior styling and specific interior appointments, including prominent 20-inch flangeless wheels. Power comes from the LS2 6.0L V-8 that produces 390 horsepower (290 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. of torque (542 Nm) – enabling the powerful SUV to reach 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The TrailBlazer SS is available in two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

TrailBlazer SS is a serious performer and a capable midsize SUV. Riding on a one-inch-lower suspension, the TrailBlazer SS’s suspension was tuned and tested on the racetrack to deliver responsive, balanced handling. The lower ride height reduces the vehicle’s center of gravity, improving overall handling. The springs are up to 25 percent stiffer than the LT model, complementing the lowered ride height with a firmer feel and reduced body roll. Corner control and body roll control also are improved with front stabilizer bars that are approximately 10 percent larger in diameter than other TrailBlazer models. StabiliTrak electronic stability control is standard.

The four-wheel-disc with ABS brake system uses large, 12.8-inch (325 mm) front disc brake rotors and iron, twin-piston calipers. The heavy-duty iron calipers are stiff and retain their shape under high pressure/high heat braking conditions, providing a more linear feel and reduced pedal travel in high-energy stops. There also is an accessory front brake cooling package available for optimized track performance. With TrailBlazer SS’s brakes, tires and revised ABS algorithm, 62-mph-to-0 (100-kp/h-to-0) stopping distance is approximately 135 feet.

Under the hood, the LS2 6.0L V-8 delivers satisfying down-low torque, for strong off-the-line performance. Torque is inherent to the engine’s cam-in-block design, large 4.00-inch-diameter (101.6 mm) bores and 3.62-inch (92 mm) stroke. Response is crisp and immediate, thanks to the electronically controlled throttle. There also is a stylish SS-specific engine cover, radiator support cover and coordinated air induction box.

Backing the 6.0L V-8 is a new Hydra-Matic 4L70 electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. It was developed to handle the high horsepower and high torque loads of performance-oriented light-duty vehicles. Special high-strength and heat-treated materials are used in the 4L70 to ensure it delivers smooth, dependable shifting.

A performance-oriented all-wheel drive system is available, giving the TrailBlazer SS impressive on-road grip and enhanced “launch” feel. The always-engaged system uses a Torsen center differential to split torque between the front and rear wheels. It is a torque-bias system that detects low traction at one axle and directs more torque to the other when needed – it is capable of changing the normal 67-percent rear-axle torque bias up to 45/55 (front/rear) or 25/75 (front/rear), depending on the road conditions.

Modifikasi Yamaha Mio 2005 Jadi Motor Sport Klasik



Modifikasi yang dilakukan Ressa Wintananda ini terbilang ekstrim. Bayangkan, ia mengubah Yamaha Mio 2005 miliknya menjadi motor laki model sport bergaya klasik. Reza, sapaan akrabnya, mengaku memang ingin lepas dari aliran gaya low rider, hot rod atau drag style yang lagi digandrungi para builder skutik.
Menurut pengakuannya, ia lebih suka yang klasik. Keputusan permak motor pun bukan karerna ia niat ingin ikut kontes. "Motor ini aku pakai buat keliling beli onderdil," ungkapnya.

Kendati dipakai buat harian, ia bisa dibilang kreatif dan karyanya ini inovatif, bahkan bisa dibilang ekstrem karena dari Yamaha Mio, hanya mesin yang dipakai. Sudah begitu, posisi mesin skutik yang di belakang pindah lokasi menjadi di tengah.

Menariknya lagi, sistem suspensi depannya telelever. Model tunggal seperti lawas dengan posisi di tengah atas, tepatnya di bawah setang. Kemudian, roda depan dipegang satu arm mengikuti yang belakang. Termasuk desain sokbreker belakang juga tunggal yang terletak antara tangki dan sadel depan.

Velg custom ukuran 14 inci dibalut ban Swallow ukuran 160/70. Menurut Reza, rangka dibikin dari nol dengan menyesuaikan dimensi mesin dan CVT. "Rangka aku sesuaikan kekuatannya, meski diamaternya kecil. Tapi, kualitas las-lasannya mesti bagus agar kuat," ungkap Reza dari rumah modifikasi roda empat KMS, Kaliurang, Yogyakarta.

Sekalipun dibangun bukan untuk ikut kontes, nyatanya ketika ditampilkan di ajang Yamaha Mofest Modification Contest 2, region 1 di Kota Gudeg, Reza menyabet piala sebagai pemenang II kelas Non Moped X-Treme. (sumber: kompas.com)
